The new CARBOLIGHT is built with CUSTOM XLR8R tubing, to create a lightweight and top performance frame. The unique bell shaped tubing was designed exclusively by Irio Tommasini. The Tommasini tradition of superior craftsmanship and attention to detail are demonstrated in the hand cut aluminum lugs where the carbon fiber seat tube is held. The lugs are hand shaped in Irio’s factory and resemble the signature Tommasini logo. In addition the 2008 CARBOLIGHT features the new and exclusive Tommasini T-FLIGHT* carbon fiber rear triangle, 100% made in Italy. The head tube is built to accommodate an integrated system hidden-set and is personalized with the enameled Tommasini head badge. In addition, the frame has rear aluminum replaceable dropouts, a patent of Irio Tommasini’s.

The aluminum parts are heat treated in order to create a safe and resistant frameset. The frame also undergoes a special “cataforesi” treatment, to preserve the frame from oxidation. Extreme care is taken during the assembly process and the carbon fiber tubes are tightly mitered to create the “perfect joint” that aids in the absorption of road shock. 

A 55 cm frame weighs approx. 1.180 kg.

Suggested fork is the FKT56 (1-1/8” full carbon)
